About Me

I’ve published three novels, most recently Hold (2016), longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award and the Voss Literary Prize. I grew up in Sydney and now live in the San Francisco Bay Area. My columns, reviews and essays appear regularly in The Sydney Morning Herald and other publications. I am a founder of The Stella Prize for Australian women’s writing, have a PhD in English from Rutgers University and have taught creative writing and literary studies at University of California, Berkeley and UTS, Sydney.
