Thanks to books editor Mark McEvoy for mentioning The Legacy as one of the best Australian novels of 2010 in yesterday’s Sun-Herald.

Two reviewers selected The Legacy as one of the best books of 2010 in ABR’s roundup in the December issue:

The Legacy is, on the surface, a pastiche of Henry James’ The Portrait of a Lady, but on a deeper level it is a searing portrait of Sydney and New York before and after 9/11, a world morally unprepared for the calamity that overtakes it.
    –Nicholas Birns

The Legacy had me enthralled from the start. It is not a book to read quickly, but one to savour. — Gilian Dooley
